Day Spa Etiquette

Although you’ve paid some money for a spa treatment, it doesn’t mean that you can do anything you want at a day spa. There is spa etiquette you need to follow so you can enjoy the treatment very well. It’s important for you to arrive at leas fifteen minutes early before your appointment time. It will give you extra time to check in and get into your robe. You need to come even earlier, if you want to enjoy special facilities provided by the spa, such as sauna or steam or whirlpool baths.

You don’t need to worry about being completely nude during spa treatment, such as massage and body treatments, because the therapist will always keep your body covered in dry services. They will only expose your body part to be worked upon. You may give feedback to the therapist for their treatment based on your comfort and special troubled areas. You can talk to them and the therapist will follow your lead. The most important thing in having spa treatment is being relax and allow the therapist to take care of you. All you have to do is just enjoy it. And please remember that you get a therapeutic massage at day spa not a sensual experience.

You may not talk loudly in the public areas because everybody is searching for a quite and peaceful atmosphere at a day spa. Whenever you want to have spa treatment, it’s better for you to not bring children and leave them unattended. You also need to tip the therapist 15-20%. When the therapist says “take your time getting up,” you don’t need to get up in hurry. You still have five or I minutes to get dressed and leave the room. Besides, the room needs to be prepared for the next client unless the therapist says otherwise. Whenever you have spa treatment, it’s better for you to give honest feedback to the therapist, receptionist, owner, and etcetera since they need your honest opinion to improve their service quality.
